Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they will post a new Top Ten list that one of the bloggers there at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join!
Today’s topic is the Top Ten Books I Resolve to Read in 2013. I don’t tend to do well with resolutions, so I’m sort of afraid of jinxing myself by actually putting these titles in writing. I suppose if I fail I can always blame this meme, right? :D Nonetheless, these are the books I am going to try to get read this year. Some are classics, and others are books I’ve heard nothing but praise for. Off we go!
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood
Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
Wildwood Dancing by Juliet Marillier
So that’s my list! What’s yours? Please link me!
And Happy New Year! ♥
I loved the Daughter of Smoke and Bone so pleasepleaseplease may this post not be jinxed! I’ll need to find time for Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices as well. Great list and happy reading :D
I also need to read Daughter of Smoke and Bone.
I love Jane Eyre and Sense and Sensibility. Those are terrific.
Great picks. I need to read all of the ones you listed too. Great picks! Good luck with reading them. Happy New Years and happy reading!

I’ve had The Handmaid’s Tale on my shelf forever! Maybe I will try to get to it soon as well. Happy New Year!
My Top Ten
YAY! Jane Eyre and Daughter of Smoke and Bone :)
I saw on another post that you included some of the classics, so I clicked on over as I’m participating in The Classics Club and have quite a few on my own list including The Iliad. I’m looking forward to that one, although I vaguely remember reading at least parts of it a few decades ago. In anticipation, I’ve also picked up The Great Courses offering as I really want to dig into it this time.
I love book talk, too. I hope you have a wonderful year of reading and book talk. Mine own weekly offering of 2013 must-reads
Clockwork Angel is on my list as well! Sense and Sensibility is awesome and I would love to read Jane Eyre this year too! Great list :)
Here’s my Top Ten!
Daughter of Smoke and Bone and The Handmaid’s Tale are both high on my list this year, too. Now following you via Linky, btw. :D My TTTs are at Musings on Fantasia and LKHill. Happy New Year! :D
What a great list! I need to read Handmaid’s Tale too- I’ve had it forever and hear it’s loads better than a lot of the current dystopia books on the market. Breadcrumbs also looks lovely. Hex Hall is so fast and fun I’m sure you could knock it out quickly. Good luck with all your reading goals and happy new year!
I literally just finished Daughter of Smoke and Bone. If you don’t get to any of the other books on your list, read this one!! It is absolutely incredible. I love Clockwork Angel and Sense and Sensibility. From what I’ve heard, the Handmaid’s Tale is great, too.
Happy New Year, and thanks for stopping by my blog!
Great picks Merin! I completely forgot about Daughter of Smoke & Bone… I really want to read that one this year as well! I also really want to read Hex Hall(and finish) before the spin off comes out… those books have amazing covers!!!
I really liked Jane Eyre. I read it years and years ago, when I was in junior high. I sometimes go back and forth between loving it and thinking Mr. Rochester is creepy.
Wildwood Dancing has been on my radar for awhile, too. A patron at the library loved it, and keeps telling me I need to read it.
I also don’t do well when I list the books I plan to read. I am feeling kind of motivated right now, though. I wonder how long that will last :)
Good luck on your reading resolutions.
Here’s to 2013!
I keep hearing all these great things about Juliet Marillier, but haven’t read any of her books, so figured I should remedy that. :)
