Stacking the Shelves #47

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, which is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. You can read more about the creation of Stacking the Shelves by visiting the official launch page here.

The past few weeks at work have been Crazy (yes, with a capital c!). The students are very much suffering from Spring Fever and their behavior has really taken a nosedive. We have less than a month left for the year, though, so like the little engine that could, I think I can, I think I can, I think I can make it! In book news, I have a very small haul to share with you, but I am so super excited about one title that I most likely won’t be able to wait until closer to its release date to read it!

Purchased:

This was picked up for only $2 at the annual Greater St. Louis Book Fair, which I visited Friday evening after work. I also picked up several teacher resource books for $.50 each, as well as big book versions of the Beatrix Potter stories (except Peter Rabbit, which bummed me out a tad) for $1 each. I was disappointed by the lackluster selections in the YA section this year (last year I got several great titles), but still had fun poking through everything.

E-books/E-galleys:

I cannot even TELL you how excited I was when I got approved for Unthinkable! I adored Impossible – it’s one of my all-time favorites – so cannot wait to read the sequel. Thank you so SO much to Dial and Sourcebooks Fire for granting my requests! ♥

So what did you get this week? Please link me!

I bought Vampire Academy recently. I’m really looking forward to reading it. I haven’t heard of the Impossible series. Looks really good though. Happy reading :D

Ahhh Vampire Academy! I so loved those books. I disappeared into a black hole for a week and read all six. It was awesome! I really wanted Truly Madly Deadly but alas wasn’t to be! ;) Hope you enjoy them all!

  4. Nice haul of books, I loved Vampire Academy so I hope you enjoy it! I didn’t know there was a sequel to Impossible, have added it to my wishlist now so thanks!

    My Haul!

  5. I’m so excited to see that you got Vampire Academy! I’d been skeptical to read it because I’d become rather burnt out on vampire books, but it was awesome, as was the rest of the series. I hope you love it as much as I did! :)

It looks like work is kick both our butts lately. You guys get out of school in May? In Central NY kids are in school until the mid-to-late June. But then they don’t start up again until September.

Annnnyways, clearly I need to look into Impossible if you love it so much. I’ve never heard of it and am not really intrigued!

I seriously feel like the worst YA book blogger for never read VA. Everyone seems to love that series. It’s just – vampires freak me out a little. It’s the whole blood-drinking thing. It’s a little weird. :) I should definitely read them, though, because I bet I would like them.

Enjoy your goodies and happy reading!

    • Merin says:

Oh, I loved Impossible. I know you’re not big on faerie books, and this one *is* technically a faerie book, but I think you’ll like it all the same. :)

And we go back in early August, so get out of school the Thursday before Memorial Day. I am SO counting down!

  8. Wow… 2$ for Vampire Academy is awesome :) I loveeee that series!!! I loveeedddd Beatrix Potter and cannot wait to collect those one days, the illustrations are always so beautiful. I had NO IDEA that Truly, Madly, Deadly is on Netgalley… now we are even haha. I’ve swore myself from there since I clearly have too many books now… but I’m going back, haha. I hope you enjoy all your books Merin :D

  9. jessica says:

Haha, I understand you completely! I am also a teacher and these kids are driving me NUTS! I keep chanting the Dory motto, “Just keeping swimming, just keep swimming” to get me through, LOL. Vampire Academy! Yay! I hope you like it!

  10. I have VA.. but haven’t read it. Really need to! I love the cover of Unthinkable… the colors are so pretty! I hear you on work being crazy… It’s finally dying down here for me (yay the semester being over!) so hopefully I can catch up all the blogging fun!

Thanks for visiting! I love receiving comments and do my best to respond to all of them. However, due to time constraints, this blog is now an award and tag free zone. I really appreciate the thought, but just don't have the time to pass them on.
