The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 19th and runs through Sunday, August 25th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. This will be the second time I’m participating in Bout of Books. Last time I read three books and one novella, so I’m definitely hoping to up my total books read goal a bit this time. I also really want to try to make a Twitter chat, since I couldn’t make any of those during 7.0. It’s going to be hard, because I’m back at work full-time starting Monday, but we’ll see what happens. Regardless I’m sure I’ll have loads of fun, just like I did during 7.0.
Tentative To-Read List for Read-a-Thon:
I most likely will not get through all of these, but I hope I’ll at least make a dent in this pile. Her Highness, the Traitor is my August Random Reads pick, and I need to read The Forgotten Ones for a blog tour stop on August 26th. The School for Good and Evil is being read as part of a read-along, so I just need to read my “assigned” number of pages for the week to meet that goal. All in all, it SHOULD be manageable, but of course I can’t know for sure until I try, right? Here’s hoping I can get through everything!

Ooo, I need to sign up for Bout of Books. I have been in such a reading slump for weeks now, and I’m hoping that Bout of Books will help me kick this reading slump to the curb.
I haven’t read anything at all this entire week! Life is just too busy right now, and I’m so tired when I get home that I basically just want to sit like a lump and not do anything. I am way off track with my review schedule because of it, too, but just can’t bring myself to actually care all that much. Apathy, blah!

I am making my rounds to Bout blogs during our last ‘free day!’ ahead of the Bout beginning! I’m super-excited because this is my first one!! And, I must say, the cover art alone for the ones your going to be reading are quite impressive! :) I won’t be involved with the chatter on twitter, but I am going to be dropping back to leave encouraging notes whilst you post your updates!! I am thankful they created the Bout — its such a wicked time for readers, not only to get to soaked into books, but to converse with each other!! :)
