Random Reads #6 :: September 2013

Random Reads is a monthly meme hosted by Sarah at I’m Loving Books.  This feature is to get us reading a random book within the month that is in our TBR stack.

If you’d like to participate in Random Reads, here are the (super easy) directions:

  1. If you’re on Goodreads, enable sorting to your to-read shelf (you should see numbers next to each book now).
  2. Go to random.org and type in the Min as 1 and the Max as how ever many books are on your to-read shelf.
  3. Scroll down to the book matching the number random.org picks.
  4. Post and link up.
  5. Read and be merry.

August was an absolutely terrible reading month for me. I was supposed to have read Her Highness, the Traitor as my Random Reads pick, but only read 22 pages of it. It wasn’t because I wasn’t enjoying it, though, it was just that life severely got in the way of my reading. I literally only read two books the entire month, although I have another two in progress as well. I am really hoping that September will be better!

This month, Random.org selected #606, which is:

So, as well as finishing Her Highness, the Traitor by Susan Higgenbotham, I also plan on reading the above book, The Smoke Thief by Shana Abe. I’ve read both of Abe’s YA books set in this same universe, so it will be fun to finally read the book that started her whole story. The Smoke Thief has been on my to-read list since May 28, 2012.

If you’re participating in Random Reads this month, do link me up to your post so I can see what you’ll be reading!

    I totally feel you on life getting in the way. I definitely have months like that, especially during the summer it seems. The Smoke Thief looks REALLY good and it’ one that’s been on my list as well for awhile. I hope you enjoy it!

  4. Looks like a good choice! I haven’t read any of Abe’s books, but I love the covers. Happy Reading!

  5. Happy reading this month! Your book looks very interesting :)

  6. Glad to know I’m not the only one who hasn’t been reading! Hope you manage to get them both read :)

Thanks for visiting! I love receiving comments and do my best to respond to all of them. However, due to time constraints, this blog is now an award and tag free zone. I really appreciate the thought, but just don't have the time to pass them on.
