Top Ten Creepiest Book Covers

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they will post a new Top Ten list that one of the bloggers there at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join!

Today’s topic is Halloween-related, in that it asks us to share our Top Ten Scariest Book Covers. However, I changed “scariest” to “creepiest” and am looking more at the atmosphere the cover portrays than it necessarily being scary. Keep in mind that I haven’t read most of these – I got them all off my to-read list – so I am strictly talking about the covers and nothing else.

  1. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children also made my list for this week–very eerie cover! The cover for A Monster Calls is very well-done–and also pretty frightful.

  2. Briana says:

A Monster Calls is a good one! I haven’t read the book, but the cover has always creeped me out!

  3. Lucy says:

Cool spooky covers! I Hunt Killers and Girl of Nightmares are my faves. I was also attracted to black, white, and red this week :)

  4. The Spellbound cover is freaking me out a little bit to be honest. I like the A Monster Calls cover–I think it’s the sketchy lines of the art.

  5. ChrissiReads says:

Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children made my list as well. It’s a very creepy cover.

  6. Miss Peregrine’s is nightmare-inducing, and the cover of the sequel is even worse. GET IT AWAY FROM ME.

  7. Vilia says:

I think the simple monochrome colours with a splash of red work best as our imagination gets to work. I’m seeing a lot of Miss Peregrine and I think it is the expression on the girl’s face that is the most disturbing. Here’s my TTT

  8. That’s it… I am going to stop blog hopping right now.
I will have nightmare’s for a week with all these freakishly creepy covers.

  9. S. L. Bond says:

I’m so torn by Miss Peregrine’s! I’m really curious and I want to try it, but I’m such a wuss it’ll probably give me nightmares, especially with the pictures.

  10. Olena P says:

Miss Peregrine’s is a scary book for sure. Just look at the girl on the cover and you’ll want to look away. Great picks!

Thanks for visiting! I love receiving comments and do my best to respond to all of them. However, due to time constraints, this blog is now an award and tag free zone. I really appreciate the thought, but just don't have the time to pass them on.
