November in Review

Oh my goodness, where did November go? It feels like I was just making my review post for October, and now I’m turning around and making another! It’s hard to believe that Christmas will be here in less than a month. I am no where near ready!

I did a little more reading this month than last, so that’s one good thing to come out of November. I am still not reading as much as I’d like to be, but there are just simply times when I don’t WANT to read, and I’ve decided it’s just best for me not to force it, because I don’t ever want reading or blogging to become a chore. So while I may not be posting as much as I’d like, for right now it’s all working out all right.

I am currently (or still, whichever way you’d like to look at it) reading Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. I am hoping to get it read and get a review posted soon. I’ve been reading it for far too long, and it’s not even that I don’t like it! I just feel uninterested, so when I decide to do some reading, I pick something else up instead. I have no idea what’s wrong with me, but I really need to get over it.

OTHER NEWS AND/OR POSTS OF INTEREST:

I participated in Top Ten Tuesday again this month, sharing my Most Anticipated Sequels, the Ten Book Covers I Wish I Could Redesign and my Top Ten Recommendations for Greek Mythology Lovers. I also hosted a Blog Tour Stop for Daughter of Isis by Kelsey Ketch, sponsored by YA Bound Book Tours, a book I wanted to love, but unfortunately had some issues with.

I also attempted to participate in NetGalley November, but set far too lofty of goals. I did manage to read a total of three galleys (reviews all linked above), but that was far below what I’d initially planned on. Still, it was nice to get a few of them crossed off my list, even if it wasn’t the amount I’d hoped for.

After taking a break from Waiting on Wednesday last month, I went ahead and participated again, choosing School of Charm by Lisa Ann Scott, Sisters’ Fate by Jessica Spotswood, Fiendish by Brenna Yovanoff, and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han to spotlight this month.

I also shared the Ten Things I’m Most Thankful For, and compiled the list of books I picked up over the past month in my November Book Haul.

ANTICIPATING IN DECEMBER:

Other Things I’m Anticipating: CHRISTMAS BREAK! Students have a half-day on December 19th, teachers work a whole day and then a half-day on the 20th, and then we get two whole weeks off. I am definitely looking forward to it, particularly since the kids will probably be a little bit crazy from now until Christmas. :) Also, I am very much looking forward to the film release of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, which comes out December 13th. Exciting!

So that’s it for now! I’m hoping to have quite a lot more content up this month, but we’ll see what my schedule allows. I have report cards coming up at the end of the quarter, so that will definitely take quite a lot of time. Hopefully I can juggle everything else around them!
