Bout of Books 11 Sign-Up and Goals Post

boutofbooks11The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 18th and runs through Sunday, August 24th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 11 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog.

Eek! I’m barely getting this posted in time! Things with work got rather out of whack, and the date just totally got away from me! BUT! I AM participating in Bout of Books and am really excited to do so! I am not going to set any massively huge goals – I know myself well enough to realize that doing so is pointless and I’d just end up failing spectacularly – but I do have some things I’d like to accomplish and will welcome any cheering on you may want to give me. :)

My goal is to read Sisters’ Fate – which is a library book – and two others from this list. I’m leaning pretty heavily towards Fiendish, which I’m really excited about, but we’ll see if something changes. The Winner’s Curse is an audiobook that I plan on listening to each morning as I get ready for work, so while I probably won’t finish it, I hope to at least make a bit of a dent!

readathongoalsI want this to be low-key and fun, but the main reason I’m doing this challenge is to actually get some reading done! So that being said, here are my goals for this week:

  • Read 3 books
  • Participate in 2 challenges
  • Visit 5 participating blogs and leave comments (ideally daily, but at least every other day)
  • Share my progress on Instagram (HERE), Tumblr (HERE), and Twitter (HERE) [tag will be #boutofbooks on all three sites]

So that’s that! Are any of you participating in Bout of Books? If so, please link me to your posts! I’d love to cheer you on!

I so wanted to participate in this, but I have a very busy week and I am not sure how much time I’ll get to read, but best of luck with your challenges!

I’m a little worried, too, because I start back to work this week – tomorrow is the first day of the new school year – but I really want to figure out a good way to balance work and reading and blogging, so this seems like a good way to try to do that a little bit better than I did last year.

  4. I’m participating! :) Visiting some blogs while I listen to an audiobook. Good luck to you, and have fun! :) Here’s my BoB RaT Goals.

  5. Ooh, you’ve got some fantastic books of your TBR list! The Winner’s Curse is such a beautiful and amazing book. Hopefully you’ll be able to make a big dent in it! Fiendish looks like it’s definitely going to be creepy!
Good luck and have fun! :D

  6. I really loved The Winner’s Curse. I hope you have a chance to read it. Good luck on the challenge!

Thanks for visiting! I love receiving comments and do my best to respond to all of them. However, due to time constraints, this blog is now an award and tag free zone. I really appreciate the thought, but just don't have the time to pass them on.
