Ten Fairytale Retellings I Need To Read

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they will post a new Top Ten list that one of the bloggers there at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join!

Today’s Top Ten Tuesday post asked us to list either ten fairy tale retellings we’ve read or want to read. I changed it just slightly to only include ones I want to read – and as a bonus, these are all books I own as well – so here’s my list!

  1. I have been obsessed with fairytale retellings this summer, so this is an awesome list! I loved a court of thorns and roses, so you should definitely check it out soon! I don’t know if you’ve read them yet, but I also enjoyed Rosamund Hodge’s two retellings, Cruel Beauty and Crimson Bound. One of them is a Beauty and the Beast retelling like ACOTAR and the other is a red riding hood retelling which I haven’t read any of before.

  2. I’m really looking forward to Valiant! It sounds so good! Great post. :)

    Check out my TTT.

  3. You should make A Court of Thorns and Roses a priority! I loved it.

  4. I reallllllly want to read ACOTAR have heard so many brilliant things :) love your little book stack :)

  5. Tarkabarka says:

Fairest was excellently done. Lot of empathy, and a very nice, subtle point about the nature of beauty in all forms :)

  6. Absolutely LOVE all of your picks! I adore the retellings written for the Disney movie plots. Maleficent was my fav, but they’re always particularly lovely. Great list and a BEAUTIFUL picture!

  7. Carrie says:

Great pics! I need to add some of these to my own TBR list. I loved Strands of Bronze and Gold (it’s on my list today too) My TTT post

  8. Gus Gus!!!! I love thaat you have him too and staged him that way!!!!!!!!!! I also like that you based it on what you WANT to read. I’ve read all of those except the Gidwitz and the two from Disney Press, though the Beast book is on my nightstand atm. Rump is sooo cute! ACOTAR is a 2015 favorite for me! And VALIANT and STRANDS both made my list this week! Great list!

  9. Great list!!! Valiant and Strands were not on my list this week by they are officially on my TBR list, thanks to you! Here is my TTT: http://www.bookworminkorporated.com/best-current-and-anticipated-fairy-tale-retellings/

Thanks for visiting! I love receiving comments and do my best to respond to all of them. However, due to time constraints, this blog is now an award and tag free zone. I really appreciate the thought, but just don't have the time to pass them on.
