Top Ten Books On My Fall TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they will post a new Top Ten list that one of the bloggers there at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join!

Today’s Top Ten Tuesday post asks us to talk about the Top Ten Books on Our Fall TBR List. This is usually where I’d compile a list of new releases I’m looking forward to reading, but I’ve been really trying to focus on books I already own instead of ones that haven’t been published, so this will be a bit different. I am still including two upcoming releases, because I am super excited about them both, but the rest are all books I own.

So, here’s my list!

magnuschase1) Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard by Rick Riordan
I’m currently working on finishing the Kane Chronicles, and have one book left to read in the Heroes of Olympus series, but – as a giant Rick Riordan fangirl – this book clearly had to make my list. I’m excited to see what he does with Norse mythology!

tenthousandskiesaboveyou2) Ten Thousand Skies Above You by Claudia Gray
A Thousand Pieces of You was a pleasant surprise – and one of my favorites from last year – so I’m looking forward to reading the second installment.

annadressedinblood3) Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake
This has been on my TBR for the past three or four Halloweens and I’ve still never read it. I AM going to change that this year. I AM.

hallowed4) Hallowed by Cynthia Hand
I just finished Unearthly this past weekend and crashed headfirst into Team Tucker. Definitely want to know what’s going to happen next, even though I have a feeling it’s going to hurt me a bit.

tonightthestreetsareours5) Tonight the Streets Are Ours by Leila Sales
This Song Will Save Your Life was AMAZING, so I’m really looking forward to reading this one. I actually preordered it and received it the day it was released, but haven’t had the time yet to dive into it!

scorpioraces6) The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater
A friend of mine raves about this book, and I picked it up on audio a long time ago but haven’t gotten around to listening to it yet. I adore the Raven Cycle books, so am looking forward to this one as well. I think it’ll be my next audiobook, after I finish The Winner’s Crime.

curefordreaming7) The Cure for Dreaming by Cat Winters
A long overdue e-galley. But I also want to read it because I loved In the Shadow of Blackbirds, and want to know how this one compares.

nevermore8) Nevermore by Keith R.A. DeCandido
I picked up the first three Supernatural books, and definitely want to read at least one of them this fall. Fall and/or Halloween seems perfect to dive into the Winchester Brothers’ crazy cases!

coldestgirl9) The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black
Another audiobook I picked up ages ago and have let sit. I love Holly Black’s books, so am excited to listen to this one.

blythewood10) Blythewood by Carol Goodman
This book just has a spooky feel to it, which makes it perfect (in my opinion) for fall. Not sure if I’ll actually get to it or not, but I’d definitely like to!

A Thousand Pieces of You wasn’t my favorite book but the story was so exciting and I really grow close to the characters by the end. So obviously, I can’t wait for Ten Thousand Skies Above! Ooh, I love the Unearthly series! It caught me by total surprise how much I enjoyed those books. And yes, Team Tucker forever(, though Christian was super-cute in book 2). Anna Dressed in Blood was a really good book, not as creepy as I expected but if I remember correctly, the author didn’t spare the gory details. I should really pick up The Scorpio Races, I’ve had it for the longest time and love the Raven Cycle series, and also Shiver, Linger and Forever. I’m planning on reading a Cat Winters book finally, her books have been on my TBR since forever. The Coldest Girl in COldtown was so unique and the characters were THE BEST – so basically, a normal Holly Black novel. :D
Great list, hope you’ll enjoy all these novels. :)

  2. I really want to read the Thousand Pieces of You books..I’ve heard mixed things but I still want to read them. I also want to read The Scorpion Races but the Raven Cycle books have been sitting on my shelf for so long I feel like I should read those first.

    Great post!

I absolutely adore the Unearthly trilogy, so I’m very happy to see that you’re enjoying it! :-) I hope you like Hallowed! Great list.

  4. Amy says:

I have so, so SO been looking forward to Magnus Chase!!! YES!!!! I’ve been thinking about finally picking up Anna Dressed in Blood this Halloween as well! I’ve had The Coldest Girl in Coldtown on my shelf for agesss now I just need to get to it!! Within the last couple of months I’ve started watching Supernatural and I’m LOVING it (I know I’m way late to the party!), I’ve been thinking about actually reading one of the books! Great list :) :)

  5. signourney says:

Great list! I have Anna Dressed in Blood on my list for Halloween as well.

  6. Hollie says:

I loved Anna Dressed in Blood! Such a great duology. I really need to pick up The Coldest Girl in Coldtown too, it’s been on my shelf for far too long. And the Claudia Gray books have such beautiful covers! I want to own them purely because they look stunning.

  7. Great list! I still need to read This Song Will Save Your Life, but Tonight the Streets Are Ours sounds interesting, too. I really need to read something of Cat Winters’ soon, too, because her work sounds right up my street. I didn’t enjoy The Coldest Girl in Coldtown but I’m definitely in the minority, so I hope you read and enjoy lots of these soon! :)

  10. Rose says:

I hadn’t heard about The Cure for Dreaming, but I liked In the Shadow of Blackbirds so I may have to check it out. If it’s similar then it should have a good spooky vibe for an October read. Tonight the Streets Are Ours sounds really great, too.

  11. Hope you enjoy The Scorpio Races! Anna Dressed in Blood is on my TBR but I don’t think I’ll get to it this autumn.

I saw the cover for Ten Thousand Skies Above You earlier today and fell in love. I had no idea that it was a sequel. Both covers are gorgeous. Thanks for posting such a great list!
