About Me

Hi! Thanks for stopping by my blog, and for checking out my About Me page! I’m always excited to “meet” new people, so please feel free to look around and leave a comment if it strikes your fancy.

SOME BASICS ABOUT ME:

• My name is Merin. It’s pronounced like “Marin County, California”, or like the “mer” in “mermaid”. Mer-RIN. But don’t worry if you say it wrong, because everyone does!
• I am a first grade teacher in a public elementary school in a suburb outside St. Louis, MO. I received my BA in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Saint Louis University, and hold an MS in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
• There’s nothing better than curling up with a good book. It’s one of my favorite evening activities, and I try to indulge as much as is feasibly possible.
• From St. Louis, Missouri, where I was born, raised, and currently still live. Cardinals’ baseball is my first love, aside from books, and I am an avid sports fan in general. Go Cards!

The majority of the books I read fall under the category of Young Adult Literature, although I do occasionally read other genres. My interests include paranormal fiction, faeries, Greek Mythology, Holocaust Studies, music biographies and history, among others.
