Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they will post a new Top Ten list that one of the bloggers there at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join!

Today’s topic is the Top Ten Favorite Book Covers Of Books I’ve Read. I certainly didn’t have trouble coming up with covers to share this week. Instead, my problem was narrowing it down to ten! Of course, there have been a slew of cover reveals of late, so at least we had to keep it narrowed down to books we’d read. That helped a little, but I still could have picked several more to showcase!

Here are my choices for this week:

bornwickedBorn Wicked by Jessica Spotswood
I ADORE this cover and was so bummed when they changed the subsequent books!

nightcircusThe Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
The paperback has a nice cover, too, but it’s not as amazingly beautiful as the hardcover.

wondrousstrangeWondrous Strange by Lesley Livingston
Unfortunately, pictures don’t do this one justice. The colors are absolutely stunning!

siegeandstormSiege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo
Shadow & Bone had a pretty cover, but this one is absolutely gorgeous!

masqueofthereddeathMasque of the Red Death by Bethany Griffin
This one is really shimmery and metallic, and is another that pictures don’t do justice. So pretty!

danceofshadowsDance of Shadows by Yelena Black
Everything about this cover is amazing. Her dress, the ballet pose, EVERYTHING. Love!

rebelangelsRebel Angels by Libba Bray
The textures on this one are amazing, from the curtain behind her to her dress. Definitely the best of the series, at least for me!

croakCroak by Gina Damico
This one is so stunning in reality, because the entire thing is metallic. This series has some of the most unique covers! I can’t wait to have a copy of all three together on my shelves.

ofposeidonOf Poseidon by Anna Banks
I didn’t love the book, but just LOOK at that cover!

papervalentinePaper Valentine by Brenna Yovanoff
This one is so simple in its execution but fits so perfectly with the story, and is just beautiful to look at, especially with the pops of red.

Do we share any covers on our lists? What did you choose this week? Please link me!

GORGEOUS covers. We used a lot of the same ones, but now I’m regretting putting Shadow and Bone on mine instead of Siege and Storm, because you’re right: Siege and Storm is better!

  2. ChrissiReads says:

Oh I do love book covers! We have Dance of Shadows the same. It really is a beautiful cover!

  3. Nikki says:

The Night Circus will always be a favorite of mine – I love how the hand and the circus tents look like they’re cut out of paper. And the Of Poseidon cover is just gorgeous. I haven’t read the book, but man I could stare at that cover all day. Awesome list!

  4. I just adore the Paper Valentine cover but I was so bummed to not be able to get through it. It just never clicked with me.

Ooh! I love the cover of Born Wicked – I don’t know how I haven’t ever seen it before. I also really like Night Circus – seeing it reminds me of all the magic within. Great list!

  6. Rory says:

I had a love hate relationship with the Born Wicked cover. On the one hand I found it striking, on the other I found the girl’s dress to be far too short for historical fiction…I *think* I’m glad they changed it. I do love the darker colors of the new cover…

  7. Lucy says:

Ooh really gorgeous choices. The Night Circus and Masque are so cool.

  8. Merin, I love the original cover of Born Wicked too and was really sad when they decided to change it. At least I own the hardback. Somewhere. Also agree about Dance of Shadows. Too bad the contents don’t live up to the cover though. Oh man, that book is bad.

  9. Great covers Merin! Love Paper Valentine and Night Circus! Such cool covers! And of course Masque of the Red Death and Dance of Shadows are awesome too!

I had a hard time narrowing down my list to ten, too! I ended up only using covers of books that I liked. But I completely forgot to include Paper Valentine, because I love that cover and the book. I haven’t read Born Wicked, but I love the original cover, too, and am totally bummed that they changed the cover. Grr. :)

  11. Ashley@The Quiet Concert says:

I love the cover for Dance of Shadows, it keeps getting bumped down my TBR though. All the reviews have been very meh. Great list :)
