Stacking the Shelves #39

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, which is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. You can read more about the creation of Stacking the Shelves by visiting the official launch page here.

I went a little crazy at the library again this week, although to be fair, I initially only picked up three books, and then two of my requests came in. I think it’s a plot by the librarians there to never let me get caught up! Then I purchased a couple of books, and took advantage of a few Kindle deals, and voila! Another full book week. One can never say I don’t have anything to read!

  1. Jellicoe Road sounds so amazing! I really want to read it soon. Also, Going Vintage looks super cute. Enjoy all your books :)

I keep hearing all these amazing things about Melina Marchetta but have never read any of her books! When Jellicoe Road went on sale this week I knew I had to pick it up. :)

      Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Jaz says:

Another person with Scarlet lol! I really need to make a start on Cinder then :P

I have Fire and What’s Left of Me as well but have yet to read them. Confessions of an Angry Girl was pretty good (I’m about to write my review for it actually) and I’m definitely going to read Confessions of an Almost Girlfriend.

Can I just say, On the Jellicoe Road is one of my favourite books EVER? It might be a bit confusing at first but god it’s one of those books you can just keep re-reading! I’ve read it probably 10 times over the past 6-7 years. Melina is AMAZING!

    Enjoy those books :)

  3. Sunny says:

    Hey There,
Sounds like you recieved some great books. I have read What’s Left of Me by Kat Zhang and it won’t disappoint. I need to hunt Cinder down because everyone says such great things about the Lunar Chronicles. I love your site and I will make sure to check regularly. I would love it if you could check out my blog. Happy Reading :)

Haha, I try! I didn’t love Graceling, but some folks have said they enjoyed Fire more, so I’ll give it a read and see if I agree. And I’m definitely looking forward to Scarlet!

  6. You got some really fantastic books this week! Loooooved Scarlet and Fire was awesome! I loved all the books in the Cashore series. Confessions of An Angry Girl was sooo good, and I really enjoyed What’s Left of Me. Enjoy all that you got this week. Thanks for sharing and happy reading!

  7. Yes! Scarlet! lol. Awesome library book haul… I love the cover to What’s Left of Me. The Madman’s Daughter didn’t live up to the hype for me so I’m really interested to see what you think of it. Oh… and I’m going to buy The Queen’s army right now, lol.

Yay for Scarlet!!! I need to read The Name of the Star. I have the book, and I think I will really like it. I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. Going Vintage was okay. Not quite as amazing as I was hoping for, but I hope you love it and all your other goodies. Happy reading :)

  17. JessDay says:

Scarlet was just as good, maybe even a little better, than Cinder. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

  18. Livvy @Nerdy Book Reviews says:

I really need to get my hands on a copy of Fire. I’ve nearly bought it TWICE now and put it back on the shelf both time. Oooh, libraries are just a terrible thing, I always get more books than I can read out at once. I should definitely stop doing that.

Hope you enjoy reading all those fabulous books!

  19. frodosco says:

Squee, The Name of the Star, Scarlet AND The Madman’s Daughter, what an amazing haul! I hope you enjoy them all and thanks for stopping by my StS! :)
