Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they will post a new Top Ten list that one of the bloggers there at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join!
Today’s Top Ten Tuesday post asks us to talk about romances! ‘Tis the season and all that, right? Funnily enough, I had a bit of a time creating this list, mostly because YA tends to hammer home the things I DISlike more than the things I like about romance, so I tend to focus more on the negative. However, I don’t like to always be Debbie Downer, so I did a combo list. The likes may have been harder to come up with, but in the end I did succeed!
So those are my ten for this week! What are your likes and dislikes in romances? Please link me in the comments!
We share three dislikes: insta-love, “you’re not like other girls”, and the I’m-plain-but-he’s-hot-and-likes-me relationship. I’m so glad to see that insta-love is disliked so much. It”s time to do away with it and seeing someone else recognize how horrible the second one I mentioned is refreshing.

I love your post. It looks so pretty! I agree with all of your points, especially the male character being gorgeous and the female thinking she’s not. It’s a little frustrating!
Insta love is so easy to hate right now . :D great list.
My Top Ten Tuesday!
I also agree with the friendship to love i like it best
Love your list, I have to say I agree a lot about your list :) Specially I love friends-to-lovers on your list, one of my favorite thing in love :)
I also hate instalove and love when a couple are friends first. Instalove is a trend that needs to go far, far away forever, or at least be repackaged as instalust and have these relationships depicted more realistically in the early stages.

I hate that “she’s not like other girls” thing so much! Seriously I cannot even with how much that annoys me. And besides romance and love shouldn’t be based on “oh well she’s different, therefore I love her.” Not to mention that the she’s not like other girls makes it sound like girls in general are awful. Blech!
Cool way to show your lists! Good points!
Excellent lists! Oh my gosh, ‘You’re not like the other girls’ annoys me so much!
